Virginia DUI:  Wes Retherford, 32, a Conservative Republican Ohio State Representative, was arrested in March of 2017 at a McDonald’s drive through lane.  Apparently the Liberty Township McDonald’s employees called police for an unconscious man passed out behind the wheel in the drive in.  Police also found a loaded pistol resting on a car seat.  Retherford was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the  influence and for felony improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle.  Earlier that day, Retherford had attended the Butler County GOP’s Lincoln Day dinner. Fellow attendees indicated that Retherford did not appear impaired in any fashion at the dinner.

Virginia DUI:  Retherford had just begun his third two year term as a representative after thrashing his opponent by over 30 percentage points.  Retherford is a disabled United States Marine Corp veteran.  In addition to his legislative service Retherford works as a mortician’s assistant at a funeral home.

Virginia DUI:  Retherford had made headlines in 2015 when he was ordered by the House Speaker to remove a liquor cabinet from his office at the capitol.  After his recent arrest, local Democrats attacked Retherford as the”laziest and one of the most disengaged members of the state legislature”.  Unfortunately Representative Retherford may learn that the harsh laws he supports may be applied to him.
